Leece Neville 230 Amp Alternator - 6.0L & 7.3L Ford
This commercial grade alternator is a drop-in replacement for the stock 6.0L and 7.3L ford alternators, only far better. The units are USA Made and have a proven history of performance and reliability. The manufacturer earned its stripes in the commercial truck sector. Tens of thousands of big rigs run Leece Neville/Prestolite alternators. As you might expect, trucking companies have little to no tolerance for failure prone parts. It's built to last.
This unit offers 130A average idle output with the optional underdrive pulley. This unit will put out enough current for demanding applications like cold weather use, moderate sound systems, light bars, and other similar duty applications.
The unit works well with AGM and lead acid type batteries and has a 14.2V regulator set point.

Note: This unit not recommended for use in dual alternator applications as the voltage regulation will not match the lower 120 amp stock unit's 14.9 volt set point. Wiring: Augmenting the factory alternator cabling is required to avoid potentially catastrophic alternator and/or vehicle damage. Check out our cable kit options!
This unit does not come with a pulley installed. You'll either need to transfer the pulley off of your old unit or we can install a new pulley for you. If you install yourself, the pulley nut MUST be torqued to 63-foot pounds. (to avoid shaft damage and the voiding your warranty) Note that the pulley nut is counter-sunk in the pulley itself. Most use a pass-through socket and an Allen socket connected to a torque wrench in order to install this pulley.

Overdrive pulley performance:

*Fast Hot Idle 210Amps
Over-Drive Pulley Info: While the over drive pulley can boost output levels, it comes at the cost of spinning the unit faster. This means more wear. If your budget can handle it and you're needing higher output levels you're likely better off simply buying a higher powered unit like the USA diesel 240A , 320A, or 370A.
